Cenyth is a collaboration between the second generation of two famous wine-producing families. Hélène Seillan, the daughter of Pierre Seillan, is responsible for the winemaking duties at Cenyth including vineyard, block, and lot selection; winemaking protocols; and blending. Trained in the vineyards of France and drawn to the hills of Sonoma County, Hélène has worked alongside her famous father since the mid-2000s. She has an extraordinary palate and a deep understanding and appreciation of Sonoma County terroir.
The images and graphic sensibilities of Cenyth come from Julia Jackson, daughter of Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke. The label, taken from a painting of Julia’s, is rich with the yellow, gray, greens and blues that define Sonoma County throughout the calendar year.
First produced in 2009, Cenyth is a red blend that marries the ripe fruit of California with the structural elements more common to European wines. Featuring the five red Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec – and minimal new oak (30%) to preserve the freshness of the fruit – Cenyth offers a vibrantly new and personal interpretation of Sonoma County.
